PERSONAL PROFILE
Get To Know Me
I’m an experienced educational leader, and teacher, currently living in the Portland-Metro area. I have a true passion and love for learning. I have spent over thirteen years in the field of education. All of these years have mainly been spent teaching and serving families at the elementary level. To add to this, I welcome challenges and enjoy the search for solutions, especially when working with fellow colleagues. I have a “sunny” disposition and light-hearted personality, which contributes to an engaging, pleasant work environment.
At present, I am teaching online for the charter school, Oregon Connections Academy. I instruct and manage a blended classroom of sixty students. This online environment has afforded me the opportunity to “think outside of the box”, allowing me to grow and transform my teaching skills, in order to fit a virtual classroom and audience. In addition to this, I have also been fortunate enough to serve on our elementary school’s intervention team, coming up with strategies and action plans for improving student achievement in early literacy and math.
As my resume will demonstrate, I have spent a great deal of time as a school teacher and more recently, a school leader, in a variety of different settings. I have taught for private schools, public schools, and now virtual charter schools. In having held these different teaching positions I have become a well-rounded educator/leader and a truly versatile, “people person”.
